Luig is a fictional character who appears in the Mario franchise, developed by Nintendo. He is the younger, taller fraternal twin brother of Mario and serves as his loyal companion and sidekick. Luig is often depicted as more timid and easily scared than his brother, but he possesses a courageous spirit and is always ready to help.

Luig first appeared in the 1983 arcade game Mario Bros.
