Louis le Grand is a prestigious public secondary school (lycée) located on the Île de la Cité in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, France. Established in 1665 as the college of the Jesuits, it was originally dedicated to the education of young men for the clergy. Following the suppression of the Jesuit order in 1762, the college was transferred to the control of the state and became a public institution. In 1794, after the Revolution, it was renamed the Collège Royal Louis le Grand in honor of King Louis XV and later adopted its current name.
