Lohtudimme

Lohtudimme, which translates to "Experience of the Lance," is a magical artifact in the high fantasy world of J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium. It first appeared in his book "The Peoples and Places of the Third Age." The Lance is said to be a Sceptre created by Eönwë, the Herald of Manwë, at the request of Gil-galad. The Sceptre was said to have the power to smite the foe and to pierce the shadows, as well as to have the power to heal the wounds of the world.

Unfortunately, the Lance is often referred to as the Rod of Galadriel in some literature, despite the fact that this was never explicitly stated by Tolkien. This confusion is highlighted in Christopher Tolkien's book "The Peoples of Middle-earth," where he explains that the confusions result from the attempts to gel the world's information into an understandable and readable format, which can sometimes result in errors.

Throughout Tolkien's works, Lohtudimme played a significant role in several key events at the end of the Third Age. The artifact was wielded by Fëanor and was used in the Revolt of the Noldor. It was also used by the Sons of Fëanor in their rebellion against the Valar and by the Istari, particularly Eönwë, in their fight against Sauron. The life and powers of Lohtudimme are tied to the forces of Light and the battle against the shadow in Tolkien's world.
