Lockouter
Lockouter refers to a person or entity that employs a lockout, a temporary work stoppage where the employer prevents employees from coming to work. This is a defensive measure often taken by employers during labor disputes, typically when negotiations with a labor union have broken down. Lockouts are a form of industrial action and are often implemented to pressure employees and their union to accept the employer's proposed contract terms, such as changes in wages, benefits, or working conditions.
During a lockout, employees are not permitted to enter the workplace, and they are generally not paid.
