Liuottinvaiheen, often translated as solvent stage or solvent phase, refers to a process or state where a substance is dissolved within a solvent. In chemistry, this is a fundamental concept. When a solute, such as salt or sugar, is added to a solvent, like water or alcohol, it disperses and becomes surrounded by the solvent molecules. This creates a homogeneous mixture called a solution.

The properties of the solvent stage are heavily influenced by the nature of both the solute and the solvent. Factors like polarity, intermolecular forces, and temperature play crucial roles in determining solubility and the characteristics of the resulting solution.
