Liugureid

Liugureid is a fictional mineral species introduced in speculative geology and worldbuilding literature. It is described as a lithium-rich silicate mineral that forms under metasomatic conditions in subduction-zone environments.

The name Liugureid derives from the element lithium (Li) and the suffix -gureid, following a fictional naming convention used in this imagined mineral taxonomy.

In the fictional Valoria Basin, liugureid crystals are reported to crystallize during high-temperature, high-pressure metasomatism of serpentinite margins, often within narrow fracture veins. It occurs together with enstatite, chlorite, and magnetite.

Physically, liugureid is described as colorless to pale green with a vitreous luster and a Mohs hardness around 5. It forms small prismatic crystals up to a few millimeters and has a calculated specific gravity near 3.1. The proposed chemical formula includes lithium, silicon, aluminum, and oxygen, with trace germanium.

In fictional contexts, liugureid is imagined as a potential lithium resource for energy storage, although its occurrence is described as rare and spatially limited, restricting practical extraction. As a created mineral, liugureid has no verification in real-world geology.
