In real estate, listings provide properties for sale or rent with attributes such as price, location, size, features, agent contact. In e-commerce and marketplaces, product listings describe goods with prices, images, specifications, and seller information. Classifieds and business directories compile listings by category and geography.

In libraries and archives, bibliographic or catalog listings identify items and link to holdings; stock exchange listings indicate companies meeting listing requirements and trade on an exchange. Software and publishing may use a "listings" page to present source code or content.

Data typically include title or name, identifier, description, price or value, location or category, date, and status. Users apply filters and sorting to navigate large results. Listings may be static or dynamically generated from databases.

Quality and governance matter: accuracy, up-to-date information, privacy considerations, and regulatory disclosures. Platforms often implement moderation, verification, and terms of service to mitigate misleading or illegal listings.
