Lisäainetyypit
Lisäainetyypit refers to categories of food additives. Food additives are substances added to food to preserve flavor, improve appearance, or other qualities. They are regulated by food safety authorities. Common categories include preservatives, which prevent spoilage by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, and antioxidants, which prevent oxidation of fats and oils. Colorants are used to enhance or restore the color of food products. Emulsifiers help to mix ingredients that would not normally mix, such as oil and water. Stabilizers and thickeners are used to improve the texture and consistency of food. Sweeteners are used to add sweetness to foods, often as a sugar substitute. Flavor enhancers intensify existing flavors in food. Acidity regulators control the pH of food. Anti-caking agents prevent powders from clumping. Gassing agents are used to introduce gas into food, such as in baked goods. Leavening agents cause doughs and batters to rise. Each type of additive serves a specific technological purpose in food production and processing. Regulations often assign E numbers to approved food additives in the European Union, with different numbers corresponding to different functional classes.
