Liquiditätstests, also known as liquidity tests, are financial assessments designed to evaluate a company's ability to meet its short-term obligations. These tests measure a company's capacity to convert its assets into cash quickly and efficiently to cover its immediate debts. Several key ratios are commonly used in liquidity tests. The current ratio, calculated by dividing current assets by current liabilities, indicates a company's ability to pay off its current liabilities with its current assets. A ratio above 1 generally suggests sufficient liquidity. The quick ratio, also known as the acid-test ratio, is a more stringent measure, excluding less liquid assets like inventory from current assets. This ratio is calculated by (current assets - inventory) / current liabilities. It provides a clearer picture of a company's ability to meet its obligations without relying on the sale of inventory. Another important metric is the cash ratio, which measures a company's ability to pay off its short-term debt with only cash and cash equivalents.

These tests are vital for various stakeholders. Investors use them to gauge the risk associated with a company. Creditors and lenders assess liquidity to determine the likelihood of repayment.
