Lineaarijärjestelmät, or linear systems, are mathematical constructs that consist of a set of linear equations. A linear equation is an equation where each term is either a constant or a product of a constant and a single variable. For example, the equation 2x + 3y = 6 is linear, while x^2 + y = 4 is not.

Linear systems are also used to model real-world phenomena, such as electrical circuits, structural analysis, and economic models. In these applications, the variables often represent physical quantities, and the equations represent relationships between these quantities. By solving the linear system, one can determine the values of these quantities that satisfy the given relationships.
