Limakalva

Limakalva is a Finnish company that operates a commuter rail service in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. It is a subsidiary of the VR Group, the state-owned railway company of Finland. Limakalva operates the Ring Rail Line (Kehä I) and the western commuter rail line (Länsimetro), serving a number of stations connecting the capital city and its surrounding municipalities.

The company began its operations in 2015 with the opening of the first phase of the Ring Rail Line, which connects Helsinki Airport to the existing commuter rail network. The western commuter rail line, also known as the West Metro, opened in stages starting in 2017, extending the rail network further into the city of Espoo. Limakalva is responsible for the daily operation of these lines, including train scheduling, passenger information, and maintenance of the rolling stock.

Limakalva's fleet consists of modern electric multiple-unit trains designed for urban and suburban passenger transport.
