These are verbs that do not express an action but rather connect the subject of a sentence to a subject complement, which provides more information about the subject. The most common copular verb in Finnish is "olla" (to be). For example, in the sentence "Aurinko on kirkas" (The sun is bright), "on" links the subject "aurinko" to the adjective "kirkas," describing the sun.
