Liikenteenjärjestysdirektiivi

Liikenteenjärjestysdirektiivi, officially Directive 2008/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the management of road safety, is a European Union directive that aims to improve road safety across member states. The directive establishes a framework for the systematic management of road infrastructure safety.

Its core objective is to reduce the number and severity of road traffic accidents by ensuring that road infrastructure is designed, built, and maintained with safety as a priority. The directive mandates that member states implement road safety management systems for the network of roads that form part of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T) and other major roads.
