Licenierea is a fictional archipelago and autonomous region in the northern reaches of the continent of Aridan. It appears in world-building and speculative fiction as a maritime setting with varied coastal landscapes, a long seafaring heritage, and a distinct local culture.

The archipelago comprises three principal islands—Aroa, Lysara, and Nerith—and numerous islets scattered along a rugged coast. Terrain includes low hills, rocky shores, and tidal estuaries. The climate is temperate maritime, with frequent fog, moderate rainfall, and sea breezes that shape daily life. The surrounding ocean supports kelp forests and rich marine biodiversity.

Mythic and historical traditions describe early settlements and trade networks. In the fictional timeline, Licenierea acquired a degree of local self-government and later joined a federation with a regional council. The autonomous administration is headed by a governor and a locally elected assembly; the capital is Port Lys on Lysara.

The population is modest, concentrated in coastal towns and fishing villages. Key industries include sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, ecotourism, and renewable energy development, notably tidal power. Ports and shipyards support maritime services and export of fish products.

Endemic species include the Liceneirean gull and the Licenierea pine, with protected habitats in the archipelago’s estuaries.
