Leviämiskanava
Leviämiskanava is a Finnish term that translates to "disposal channel" or "outfall channel." It refers to a constructed channel or pipe designed to transport and discharge wastewater, treated or untreated, from a source such as a wastewater treatment plant or industrial facility into a larger body of water. This receiving body of water is typically a lake, river, or the sea. The primary purpose of a leviämiskanava is to facilitate the safe and effective disposal of effluent, preventing its accumulation in populated areas or in sensitive ecosystems that might be overwhelmed by the discharge.
The design and construction of a leviämiskanava take into account factors such as the volume and nature
