Letrats

Letrats are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos in the Starfall Galaxy. They are characterized by their six-limbed, bipedal anatomy, with two larger primary limbs for locomotion and four smaller, prehensile limbs used for manipulation. Their skin is typically a mottled green and brown, providing camouflage within their native jungle environment. Letrats possess large, luminous eyes that allow for excellent vision in low-light conditions.

The Letrat society is organized into tribal communities, each led by an elder council. Their culture is deeply intertwined with nature, and they are known for their sophisticated understanding of Xylos's flora and fauna. They are primarily gatherers and hunters, with a diet consisting of fruits, insects, and small Xylosian creatures. Letrats communicate through a complex system of vocalizations, clicks, and scent markings.

Technologically, Letrats have developed rudimentary tools made from bone, stone, and hardened sap. They have not yet achieved interstellar travel, but are known to be wary of off-world visitors, preferring to remain isolated. Their primary defense mechanism involves emitting a disorienting sonic pulse and retreating into the dense Xylosian foliage. While generally peaceful, they will defend their territory fiercely if provoked.
