Properties: Lethenic is described as a silicate-like mineral with an imperfect crystal lattice. Crystals are prismatic, ranging from dark gray to black, with blue to indigo iridescence in transmitted light. It is said to have a Mohs hardness of 5.5–6 and a density around 4.6 g/cm3. The mineral reportedly exhibits faint thermoluminescence and weak paramagnetism, and it can fluoresce under ultraviolet light in some depictions.

Occurrence and formation: In-world geology, lethnic forms in deep crustal environments and hydrothermal veins within ultramafic complexes. It is commonly found alongside olivine, pyroxene, and serpentine and is described as occurring in small, high-grade pockets in fictional belts such as the Istara and Neretan regions.

It is depicted as stable under normal conditions but reactive with strong acids.
