Lenyomatkészítés, meaning "impression making" in Finnish, refers to the process of creating a physical or digital representation of an object or surface. This technique is widely used across various fields, from dentistry and prosthetics to art and manufacturing.

In dentistry, lenyomatkészítés is crucial for fabricating custom-fit dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and aligners. Impression materials, often silicones or alginates, are placed in a tray and then into the patient's mouth to capture the precise shape and contours of their teeth and gums. Once the material sets, it is removed, leaving a negative mold that can be used to create a positive replica.

Beyond dentistry, lenyomatkészítés finds application in creating molds for casting or 3D printing. Artists might use it to capture the texture of a surface for replication in different media, while manufacturers might use it for quality control or reverse engineering.
