Lentotapa

Lentotapa is a residential area in the eastern part of the Hakaniemi district in the Kruununhaka neighborhood of Helsinki, Finland. It is situated near the Puotila and Kivi Paula sections, where the Hakaniemi and Kaivopuisto neighborhoods meet. The area was formally designated a housing district in 2018, marking its official recognition as a residential area.

Lentotapa is characterized by its high-rise apartments, many of which were constructed during the 1970s and 1980s. The area is a mix of commercial and residential properties, with a small number of shopping centers and services available. There is a Sunni mosque located in the area, serving as a place of worship for local residents of Islamic faith.

The name "Lentotapa" translates to "to take off" in the Finnish language. Etymologically, the name is a reference to the spatial transformation of the area, reflecting the movement upwards or away from the surrounding neighborhoods.
