Lasiovi is a coastal town and municipality in the fictional country of Eldoria, situated in the Valerian Highlands along the eastern shore of the Valerian Sea. It serves as the administrative center of the Lasiovi district and maintains a small harbor used by local fishing boats and ferries.

Geography and economy: The town sits at the mouth of the River Neral, with a rugged coastline and rolling hinterland. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters and cool summers. The local economy centers on fishing and seafood processing, boatbuilding, and tourism. Surrounding hills support vineyards, olive groves, and orchards that supply regional markets.

History: Lasiovi was founded in the 13th century by fishing communities and developed as a regional trading stop linking inland markets with coastal routes. It endured several earthquakes in the 17th and 18th centuries and was rebuilt in stone and timber, leaving a legacy of sturdy, traditional architecture.

Demographics and governance: The population is around 7,000 to 7,500, predominantly Eldorian with minority Valin communities. The town operates under a directly elected mayor and a 12-member council within Eldoria’s regional framework.

Culture and landmarks: Notable sites include the Cathedral of Our Lady of the River, the old harbor, and the Lighthouse of Neral. The Market of St. Raphael is a weekly hub for local crafts, while annual events include the Harvest Festival and a Lantern Festival.

Transportation: Lasiovi is connected by regional roads and a ferry link to nearby island communities, with a limited rail connection to the regional capital.
