Languagella

Languagella is a constructed international auxiliary language designed to be easy to learn and culturally neutral. It combines regular grammar, a compact phoneme inventory, and vocabulary drawn from multiple language families, with the aim of facilitating international communication and language learning through reduced irregularities and exceptions.

Its development began in the early 2010s as an open-source project by a group of linguists and educators. The language and teaching materials have been published on public wikis and used in online courses with a collaborative community that edits dictionaries and phrase lists.

Phonology and grammar are designed for regularity. Languagella uses five vowels and a moderate consonant set, with stress typically on the penultimate syllable. The writing system is Latin-based with optional diacritics. The grammar is analytic and SVO, with no grammatical gender, no verb conjugations, and nouns that form plural with the suffix -s. Tense and aspect are expressed by pre-verbal particles: pas for past, nun for present, fut for future.

Lexicon emphasizes recognizable roots from various languages, with productive suffixation to form related words. The project favors clarity and regularity over stylistic complexity, while maintaining enough vocabulary to express everyday discourse.

Usage and reception: Languagella has attracted learners and teachers through online courses, forums, and translation projects. Some critics argue its lack of morphological richness can limit expressiveness, while supporters point to its accessibility and neutral design. The language remains a niche but active community project with ongoing development.
