Landbohøjskoles

Landbohøjskolen, officially known as the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (KVL), was a renowned institution of higher education in Denmark. Established in 1858, it was dedicated to research and education in agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine, and forestry. Over its long history, KVL played a crucial role in advancing knowledge and practice in these fields, contributing significantly to Denmark's agricultural sector and animal welfare. The university was known for its strong academic programs and its focus on both theoretical and practical learning.

In 2007, Landbohøjskolen merged with the Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Copenhagen School of Economics and Business Administration to form the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Science. This integration aimed to create a more comprehensive and interdisciplinary research and educational environment. While the name "Landbohøjskolen" is no longer in official use, its legacy continues through the various departments and research centers that now operate under the umbrella of the University of Copenhagen, particularly within its science and health faculties. The historical campus, located in Frederiksberg, remains a significant site for research and education.
