Lammitysjäähdytys
Lammitysjäähdytys, also known as thermal energy storage or phase change material (PCM) cooling, is a technology that utilizes phase change materials to store and release thermal energy, effectively providing cooling. These materials undergo a physical transformation, typically melting or solidifying, at a specific temperature. During the melting process, they absorb a significant amount of heat from the surroundings with minimal temperature increase. Conversely, when they solidify, they release this stored heat.
The primary application of lammitysjäähdytys is in building climate control. During periods of low energy demand
Several types of phase change materials are used, including organic compounds like paraffins and inorganic salts.
