Lainopillinen

Lainopillinen is a term used in Finnish legal scholarship to describe the doctrinal or jurisprudential aspect of law. The word combines laki (law) and opillinen (doctrinal), and in scholarly usage it refers to the study and analysis of the normative structure of legal systems, focusing on sources of law such as statutes, case law, and legal principles, as well as the methods used to interpret and apply these norms.

In contrast to empirical or socio-legal approaches, lainopillinen analysis emphasizes coherence, the hierarchy and unity of legal norms, and the theoretical foundations of legal rules.
