LEADER to grants are a European Union initiative to support rural development. The LEADER approach is based on local action groups, or LAGs, which are partnerships between public and private actors. These groups develop and implement local strategies for rural development, focusing on areas such as job creation, environmental protection, and improving the quality of life in rural communities. The LEADER program is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and national governments. LEADER groups work at a local level, identifying specific needs and opportunities within their territories and designing projects to address them. This bottom-up approach ensures that development efforts are tailored to local circumstances and are driven by the priorities of the communities themselves. The program aims to foster innovation and cooperation in rural areas, encouraging the development of new ideas and approaches to rural challenges.
