Kõusaar

Kõusaar is a small island in the Baltic Sea that belongs to Estonia. It lies off the western coast of the country, near Hiiumaa, and is administratively part of Hiiumaa Parish in Hiiu County. The island is uninhabited and has a modest land area, with a coastline dominated by sandy and gravel beaches and low-lying dunes. The interior consists of sparse coastal vegetation, including grasses and shrubs adapted to sea winds and saline soils.

The location of Kõusaar means it is used by migratory birds and can serve as a resting site for seabirds during passage. The surrounding waters are representative of the western Estonian archipelago, supporting a range of marine life and seasonal fishing activity in the region.
