Käsitledakse

Käsitledakse is an Estonian verb form used to express that something is being addressed, handled, or dealt with without naming the agent responsible. It is the passive mood form of the verb käsitlema (or related verbs meaning to handle, to address, to deal with). In English, it is commonly translated as “is/will be addressed” or “is/was being handled.” The form is common in formal, official, and administrative writing and in public communications.

Morphology and usage: Käsitledakse is third-person singular, passive. It is formed by attaching the suffix -dakse to the stem käsitle-, creating an impersonal construction where the doer remains unspecified. Depending on context, the phrase can refer to present action or to a future action that has been planned or announced. The emphasis is on the action to be taken rather than on who performs it.

Examples: Küsimus käsitledakse järgmisel koosolekul. (The issue will be addressed at the next meeting.) Taotlused käsitledakse vastavalt protseduuridele. (Applications are handled according to procedures.)
