Kystvakten
Kystvakten, commonly referred to as the Norwegian Coast Guard, is the maritime security service of Norway and a component of the Royal Norwegian Navy. Its principal responsibility is the surveillance, control, and enforcement of laws in Norwegian coastal waters, including the territorial sea and the exclusive economic zone. The unit works to prevent and respond to threats such as illegal fishing, smuggling, and pollution, and to assist civil authorities in search and rescue operations, maritime safety, and environmental protection.
