The primary function of a kylmävesiverkko is to supply cold water to air conditioning units and other cooling technologies within connected buildings. This chilled water is generated at a central plant, often using large-scale chillers powered by electricity or other energy sources. Once chilled, the water is pumped through insulated pipelines to the end-users. After absorbing heat from the buildings, the warmer water returns to the central plant to be re-chilled and recirculated.
