Kvanttisimmeissä

Kvanttisimmeissä, also known as quantum entanglement in Finnish, is a phenomenon in quantum mechanics where two or more particles become linked in such a way that they share the same fate, regardless of the distance separating them. This means that measuring a property of one entangled particle instantaneously influences the corresponding property of the other(s).

This correlation is not due to any classical communication between the particles. Instead, it arises from their shared quantum state. When particles are entangled, their properties are intrinsically connected. For example, if two electrons are entangled in terms of their spin, and one is measured to have spin up, the other will instantaneously be found to have spin down, and vice versa, no matter how far apart they are.

Albert Einstein famously referred to this as "spooky action at a distance" because it seemed to violate the principle that information cannot travel faster than the speed of light. However, numerous experiments have confirmed the reality of quantum entanglement.

The implications of kvanttisimmeissä are profound and extend to various fields. It forms the basis for quantum computing, which promises to solve certain problems exponentially faster than classical computers. It is also crucial for quantum cryptography, enabling secure communication channels that are theoretically unhackable.
