Kuulohermoja, also known as the cochlea, is a spiral-shaped structure located within the inner ear. It plays a crucial role in the sense of hearing by converting sound vibrations into electrical signals that the brain can interpret. The cochlea is composed of three main sections: the scala vestibuli, scala media, and scala tympani. The scala media contains the organ of Corti, which houses the hair cells responsible for converting sound vibrations into neural impulses.
