Kuulmisrõngas

Kuulmisrõngas, also known as a hearing loop or induction loop, is an assistive listening device that transmits sound directly to hearing aids or cochlear implants equipped with a telecoil. This technology creates a magnetic field that carries the audio signal, allowing users to hear sounds with greater clarity and reduced background noise.

The system consists of a microphone, an amplifier, and a coil of wire installed around the perimeter of a room or area. The microphone captures the sound, which is then amplified and transmitted through the wire coil. Hearing aids with a telecoil setting can pick up this magnetic field and convert it back into audible sound. This bypasses the hearing aid's internal microphone, significantly reducing ambient noise and reverberation that can interfere with comprehension.

Kuulmisrõngas systems are commonly found in public places such as theaters, lecture halls, churches, airports, and customer service counters. They are also used in smaller settings like meeting rooms and private consultation offices. The primary benefit for individuals with hearing loss is improved intelligibility of speech and other auditory information. Many modern hearing aids automatically detect and engage the telecoil when in range of a hearing loop, though some may require manual activation by the user.
