Kutseliit

Kutseliit, also known as the Estonian Defence League, is a voluntary paramilitary organization within the Estonian national defense structure. It is an integral part of the Estonian Ministry of Defence and operates under the command of the Estonian Defence Forces. The primary mission of Kutseliit is to enhance the country's defense capabilities by providing a readily available reserve force that can be mobilized in times of crisis or conflict.

The organization was re-established in 1992, following Estonia's regaining of independence. Its roots trace back to the original Kaitseliit formed in 1918. Kutseliit is composed of volunteer members who dedicate their time and skills to military training, defense-related activities, and civic education. Membership is open to Estonian citizens who meet certain age and physical requirements.

Kutseliit's activities include regular training exercises, which cover a wide range of military skills such as marksmanship, tactics, and first aid. Members also participate in various community service projects and contribute to national security efforts. The organization plays a crucial role in maintaining national resilience and fostering a sense of civic duty among its members. It operates through regional units across Estonia, ensuring a widespread presence and local engagement. Kutseliit also includes a women's auxiliary called Naiskodukaitse and a youth organization, Noored Kotkad, and Kodutütred.
