Kuritsa
Kuritsa is the Russian word for chicken. As a domesticated fowl, it is one of the most common and widespread bird species in the world, raised for its meat and eggs. In Russian cuisine, kuritsa is a staple ingredient, prepared in a multitude of ways. Common dishes include roasted kuritsa (zapechennaya kuritsa), fried kuritsa (zharenaya kuritsa), and various soups and stews featuring chicken meat. Chicken soup, or kurinyy sup, is particularly popular and often considered a comforting and healing dish. Chicken eggs, or kurinyye yaytsa, are also a fundamental part of the Russian diet, used in baking, as a breakfast item, and as an ingredient in many other recipes. The availability and versatility of kuritsa have made it an integral part of Russian culinary traditions and everyday meals. Economically, the production of kuritsa plays a significant role in the agricultural sector of Russia. The term "kuritsa" can refer to both the live bird and the meat itself.
