Kuntayksikköä
Kuntayksikköä is a term used in Finland to refer to a municipal unit or the basic administrative organization of a municipality (kunta). The concept is rooted in the Finnish Municipal Act of 1987, which defined a kunta as the lowest level of local self-government. Within a kunta, distinct units or departments (kuntayksiköt) are responsible for specific public services such as education, health care, social services, and public utilities. Each unit operates under the overall direction of the municipal council (kunnanvaltuusto) and the executive board (kunnanjohtaja).
