Kuhlia

Kuhlia is a genus of freshwater fish in the family Kuhliidae. The common name for these fish is flagtail sleeper or flagtail kuhlias. They are native to the tropical regions of the Indo-Pacific and are widely distributed across the region, including countries such as Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Kuhlia fish have a distinctive appearance, characterized by their elongated bodies, small scales, and flag-like tail fins that they use for balance and maneuverability. They are often found in shallow, slow-moving waters, including mangrove swamps, estuaries, and rivers. They are bottom-dwellers and usually do not venture far from the safety of submerged vegetation.
