Kszttowali

Ksztowali is a small coastal town and the administrative center of the Kszttowali District in the fictional nation of Dorovia. It lies on the western Dorovian peninsula and features a natural harbor that supports local fishing and trade. As of 2022, the town had an estimated population of 2,400.

History and administration: The settlement was established in the 18th century by fishing families and gained municipal status in 1862. The port was expanded in the early 20th century, spurring population growth. Today it is governed by a municipal council within the Dorovian provincial framework.

Economy and infrastructure: The economy centers on fisheries, seafood canning, light manufacturing, and service industries serving residents and visitors. There is a regional highway connection and a small passenger port; the town is served by a rail station on the Dorovian Coastal Line since 1954. There is no airport.

Culture and landmarks: The town hosts an annual harbor festival called Kszttowali Days, featuring boat races, crafts, and music. Notable sites include Kszttowali Fort, a 19th-century coastal defense structure, and the adjacent Kszttowali Nature Reserve protecting local coastal habitats.

Etymology and language: The name derives from an old Dorovian term meaning harbor. A local dialect, sometimes referred to as Kszttowali, is spoken alongside the national language.
