Krympdeformation, also known as shrinkage deformation, refers to the dimensional changes that occur in materials, particularly polymers and concrete, when they cool or cure. This phenomenon is a result of thermal contraction or the loss of volatile components. In polymers, for instance, as molten plastic cools and solidifies, the molecules pack more closely together, leading to a reduction in overall volume. Similarly, in concrete, the hydration process releases heat and water, and as the concrete cures and dries, it experiences shrinkage.

The magnitude of krympdeformation is influenced by several factors including the material's composition, the processing temperature or curing conditions, and the geometry of the object. For example, materials with a higher coefficient of thermal expansion will exhibit greater shrinkage.
