Kriptográfiára

Kriptográfiára is a Hungarian term that translates to "cryptography" in English. Cryptography is the practice and study of techniques for secure communication in the presence of adversaries. It involves methods for transforming information to make it unintelligible to unauthorized parties, a process known as encryption. The reverse process, decryption, allows authorized parties to restore the information to its original form.

The fundamental components of cryptography include algorithms, which are sets of mathematical rules used for encryption and decryption, and keys, which are secret pieces of information that control the operation of the algorithms. Historically, cryptography played a vital role in military and diplomatic communications, ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive messages.

Modern cryptography has expanded far beyond its historical applications. It is essential for securing digital communications, protecting financial transactions, and ensuring data privacy in the digital age. Key concepts in modern cryptography include symmetric-key cryptography, where the same key is used for both encryption and decryption, and asymmetric-key cryptography (also known as public-key cryptography), which uses a pair of mathematically related keys: a public key for encryption and a private key for decryption.

Hash functions, another important cryptographic tool, generate a fixed-size string of characters (a hash) from an input message, ensuring data integrity. Digital signatures, which utilize asymmetric cryptography, provide authentication and non-repudiation for digital documents.
