Koryaks
The Koryaks are an indigenous ethnic group of the Russian Far East, primarily living in Kamchatka Krai and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. They are one of the Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of the Russian Federation and form a relatively small community in modern Russia. Traditionally, Koryaks were semi-nomadic hunter-herders, fishers, and gatherers, with reindeer herding prominent in northern areas and coastal communities relying on fishing and seal hunting.
Language and identity: The Koryak language belongs to the Chukotko-Kamchatkan language family and has several dialects.
