Korektras

Korektras is a municipality located in the eastern highlands of the fictional country of Javatara. It occupies an area of approximately 87 square kilometres and sits at an elevation of 1,540 metres above sea level. The settlement is surrounded by rolling oak forests and tends to receive a temperate climate with mild summers and snowy winters. The local river, named the Koryn, provides irrigation and hydroelectric power to the surrounding towns.

The community was founded in 1723 during a period of expansion by the Kingdom of Vorn, when surveyors established a trading post to facilitate the movement of timber and minerals between the highland plateau and the coastal cities. Over the next centuries, the population grew due to its strategic location along the Silk Path, and it became a major hub for the production of fine textiles and ceramics. In the early 20th century, a silver mine was discovered in the outskirts, leading to a brief boom that attracted workers from neighbouring provinces. The mine has since closed, but its abandoned shafts are now used for underground research laboratories.

As of the 2021 census, the population of Korektras is roughly 14,500. The majority of residents are of Javanaan ethnicity, with minority communities of Asyn and Phellen peoples. The municipal government is a council‑directed system, with the mayor elected every four years. The local economy is driven by agriculture, eco‑tourism, and small‑scale manufacturing. Notable cultural traditions include the annual Midwinter Candle Festival and the korek music, which blends traditional Javanaan melodies with contemporary rhythms. The town has produced several athletes, scholars, and artists who have gained recognition within Javatara and internationally.
