Korealaisväestöt

Korealaisväestöt refers to people of Korean ancestry. This population group is predominantly found on the Korean Peninsula, which is divided into two states: South Korea (Republic of Korea) and North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea). Outside of these two nations, significant Korean diaspora communities exist worldwide.

The largest Korean diaspora populations are located in China, the United States, Japan, Canada, and various countries in Central Asia, particularly Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. These communities have formed for a variety of historical reasons, including labor migration, political instability, and economic opportunities.

Within South Korea, the population is largely homogeneous with a small but growing number of foreign residents and multicultural families. North Korea's population is also ethnically Korean. The Korean language, with its distinct alphabet (Hangul), is spoken by the vast majority of people of Korean descent, though regional dialects exist and some diaspora groups may speak other languages predominantly.

Cultural aspects such as cuisine, traditions, and social customs are often maintained by Korean communities both on the peninsula and abroad, though these can evolve and adapt over time in different geographical and social contexts. The term "Koreans" or "Korean people" is often used interchangeably with "korealaisväestöt" when referring to the ethnic group.
