Koraszülést

Koraszülést refers to the birth of a baby before 37 completed weeks of pregnancy. This means the baby is born significantly earlier than the full term of 40 weeks. Premature babies, also known as preemies, may have underdeveloped organs and systems, requiring specialized medical care. The severity of prematurity is often categorized by the gestational age at birth, with extremely premature babies being born before 28 weeks.

The causes of premature birth are diverse and can include factors related to the mother's health, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, infections, or carrying multiple babies. Problems with the placenta or uterus can also contribute. In some cases, the reason for premature labor is not identified.

Premature babies often face health challenges such as difficulty breathing, feeding issues, and an increased risk of infections. Their long-term health outcomes can vary depending on how early they are born and the medical support they receive. Many premature infants benefit from Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), where they receive round-the-clock monitoring and treatment. Advances in medical technology have significantly improved the survival rates and quality of life for premature babies.
