Koodiblokkide, a term derived from Estonian, refers to blocks of code. In programming, a code block is a sequence of statements that are grouped together. This grouping is often used to define the scope of variables, control the flow of execution, or encapsulate a specific functionality.

The most common way code blocks are denoted is through curly braces { } in many programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and JavaScript. In other languages like Python, indentation is used to define code blocks, where lines of code within the same indentation level are considered part of the same block.

Code blocks are fundamental to structuring programs. They are used in conditional statements (if, else), loops (for, while), function definitions, and class definitions. This organization makes code more readable, manageable, and less prone to errors. For instance, a loop's body is a code block that is executed repeatedly. Similarly, the statements within an if statement constitute a code block that is executed only if the condition is true. Understanding and utilizing code blocks effectively is a core skill for any programmer.
