Konvulizyon

Konvulziyon is a medical term referring to a sudden, involuntary, and violent contraction of muscles. These contractions can affect a part of the body or the entire body. They are often characterized by shaking or jerking movements. The underlying cause of konvulziyon can vary widely, ranging from fever, especially in children, to more serious neurological conditions such as epilepsy. Other triggers can include certain infections, head injuries, metabolic imbalances like low blood sugar, or exposure to toxins.

During a konvulziyon, an individual may lose consciousness or experience altered awareness. Muscle stiffness, rapid eye movements, and temporary breathing difficulties can also occur. The duration of a konvulziyon can range from a few seconds to several minutes. While some konvulziyons are benign and resolve on their own, recurrent or prolonged episodes may indicate a serious underlying medical issue that requires prompt diagnosis and treatment by a healthcare professional. It is important to note that the term konvulziyon is often used interchangeably with "seizure" or "fit" in common language, though "seizure" is the more precise medical term for an epileptic event.
