Konjikido
Konjikido is a temple located in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. Its name translates to "Golden Hall" and is a direct reference to the opulent building that is its centerpiece. The temple was originally built in 1124 by Fujiwara no Kiyohira, a powerful local warlord. The main hall, the Konjikido itself, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is renowned for its exquisite decoration.
The Konjikido is a small, three-by-three bay structure constructed entirely of wood and covered in gold leaf.
Konjikido is part of the Hiraizumi – Temples, Gardens and Archaeological Sites – representing the Buddhist Pure Land<bos>
