Konformalitása

Konformalitása is a term that generally refers to the property of being conformal. In mathematics, a conformal transformation is a function between two Riemannian manifolds that preserves angles locally. This means that if two curves intersect at a certain angle at a point on one manifold, their images under the conformal transformation will intersect at the same angle at the corresponding point on the other manifold.

The concept of conformality has wide-ranging applications in various fields of mathematics and physics. In complex analysis, conformal mappings are particularly important. A conformal map between regions in the complex plane preserves angles between curves. These mappings are crucial for solving certain types of differential equations and for understanding the geometry of complex functions.

In differential geometry, conformal transformations are a specific type of diffeomorphism. They are related to the concept of conformal equivalence of Riemannian metrics. Two metrics are conformally equivalent if one can be obtained from the other by multiplying by a positive scalar function. This scalar function is called the conformal factor.
