Kommodation

Kommodation is not a distinct, widely recognized term in standard English. It is most often encountered as a variant spelling or a misspelling of accommodation, the word used to denote lodging or adjustment. Because of this ambiguity, its meaning is typically inferred from context or corrected to the conventional form, accommodation.

In its primary sense, accommodation refers to the provision of lodging or a place to stay. This includes hotel rooms, apartment rentals, dormitory spaces, and other arrangements that allow people to live or sleep away from home. In travel writing and hospitality, correct usage is important for clarity, and accommodation is treated as a countable resource (for example, “two types of accommodation”). In ophthalmology, the closely related term accommodation describes the eye’s adjustment of focus to see objects at different distances; terminology in English consistently uses accommodation, though transliterations or misspellings may appear in non-English sources.
