Kolorimeetri

Kolorimeetri is a method used to determine the concentration of a colored compound in a solution by measuring the amount of light it absorbs. The principle behind kolorimeetri is that the intensity of the color of a solution is directly proportional to the concentration of the colored substance dissolved in it. This relationship is described by the Beer-Lambert Law, which states that absorbance is directly proportional to the concentration of the absorbing species and the path length the light travels through the solution.

To perform kolorimeetri, a kolorimeter is used. This instrument typically consists of a light source, a colored filter or a monochromator to select a specific wavelength of light, a sample holder for the solution, and a detector to measure the intensity of light that passes through the sample. The instrument is first calibrated using a blank solution, which contains all components of the sample except the colored analyte. Then, the absorbance of solutions with known concentrations of the analyte are measured to create a calibration curve. Finally, the absorbance of the unknown sample is measured, and its concentration is determined by comparing its absorbance to the calibration curve.
