Kolmekõrgusega

Kolmekõrgusega is an Estonian term that translates literally to "three-height" or "triple height." It is primarily used in the context of beekeeping, specifically referring to a type of beehive that consists of three standard hive bodies or "supers." These supers are stacked vertically, one on top of the other, to create a tall, multi-story dwelling for the bee colony.

The purpose of a kolmekõrgusega hive is to provide ample space for the bees to store honey and raise their brood. This design is particularly useful in areas with abundant nectar flow, allowing beekeepers to maximize honey production. It also accommodates the natural tendency of bees to build upwards. The three distinct levels offer a significant volume, reducing the need for frequent inspections and interventions compared to smaller hive configurations.
